Thank you very much!
Great post,many thanks
Thank you !!!
Muchísimas gracias!
Thanks again for so much Sabbath and related. Does anyone know if the high harmonies on Headless Cross (the song) are played on tape during the shows.
I watched the Moscow vid and saw no one singing that part, best I can tell. And its a tough vocal I would think. Is this a tape during live performances, all of them roughly ’83-94 or so??
Either Geoff Nicholls (RIP) sings it, or it is from tape. It was the same from 1989 (Headless Cross was only written in 1989) to 1995; thoough I am not sure if they already did this in the beginning of the Headless Cross tour, or only started it mid-tour. Tony’s vocal abilities declined notably over time, technically his vocal peak was in 1987. Nowadays, he makes heavy use of backup singers and pre-recorded vocal tracks at live shows because his voice is pretty much shot. Works OK in studio, but not live.
Thanks Linda. I love the vocal (obviously I have my chronology way way off though). I appreciate the info.
Thanks for posting this, Tony Martin’s swan song. I would also recommend considering either the Osaka or Tokyo (available on this site) show as Martin’s definitive swan song as the quality is so much better and the setlist on all is the same with the exception of switching the order of Changes and Heaven and Hell. IMHO I consider the Osaka show as the last Martin show due to the quality, length of the show, and the Sabs energy level.
