  1. Thanks a lot for this brand new Zodiac Bootleg! I’m wondering what’s new on this 2020 Remaster compared to the “Definitive Edition” also from Zodiac 🤔

  2. Thank you very much for this. I am curious how it will compare. If experiences with other Zodiac re-releases and remasters are any guide, it will probably be brighter and harsher sounding than previous versions – which were already harsher-sounding than the original transfer of the master reels, which is my favorite version nowadays. Anyway, of course I hope to be proven wrong.

  3. Well, upon listening they fixed the channels since for some unknown reason the channels were switched in the Definitive version. As for other sound differences, it sounds a little less compressed and a bit smoother. However, I will need to listen to it again to truly compare them.

  4. I just compared this new Zodiac remaster, the earlier Zodiac “Definitive Edition” and the original master reel > CDR transfer. IMO the latter is far better than both Zodiac releases. Both Zodiac remasters are extremely EQed, in a way that brings the cymbals into the center and pushes guitar and bass into the background. It may sound more ‘crispy’ at first, but my ears are getting tired of it within less than one minute of listening. The whole balance and integrity of the mix is ruined by these remasters. I’ll stick with the master reel transfer. It is far better than any of the other 20 versions I’ve checked, it simply doesn’t any tweaking.

As usual, this is of course NOT a criticism of your upload – I am very grateful that you’re sharing all these bootlegs with us so we can compare to what we have. It is a fantastic opportunity, and I have downloaded each and every Sabbath CD transfer that you’ve uploaded here.

Happy Holidays to you and yours. Stay safe, best,
    Linda
